Kheer/Rice Pudding

4 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 cups cooked rice
Ground cardamom
3 tbsp milk powder
Almond slithers for garnishing

In a pot, add the milk, sugar, cardamom, cook until it comes to a boil, then add the cooked rice and continue cooking stirring the mixture once in a while.
Once it starts to thicken, add the milk powder one spoon at a time mixing well after each addition.
Taste for sugar and add more if you need to.
The pudding is ready when the desired thickness is reached but remember to leave some liquid in the pudding as it will thicken when it’s cooled.
When ready pour the pudding in a serving dish and garnish with almond slithers or any nuts you like.
Serve it warm or cold.
