2 lbs potatoes
Chopped coriander..optional
Ground black pepper
Boil the potatoes. Once they are soft, peel and mash them.
Add the salt, chopped coriander and ground black pepper to the mashed potatoes. Keep aside.

For the meat filling:
1lb minced meat
lemon juice
salt to taste
black pepper (ground)
cumin (ground)
Chopped coriander

Put everything (the meat filling ingredients)in a pot and cook until it’s well cooked and drain any away any broth thats left. Keep aside to cool.
Now take some mashed potatoes and place them in the palm of your hand and kind of form a ball shape. Take 1 tbsp of the minced meat and place it in the middle of the ball and fold the ball of mashed potato to seal the meat inside. Smooth the ball with the palm of your hands. Repeat with the remaining mashed potato and meat.
Now take 3 eggs and beat them, add a pinch of salt and mix.
Place a karai on a medium heat stove and add some oil in the karai.
Once the oil is hot, coat the katlesi ball with the beaten egg and fry it, once one side is cooked, gently flip the katlesi to the other side and continue cooking. Remove when the katlesi is well cooked.
Repeat with the remaining katlesi balls.
Serve with any chutney and lemon wedges.
