Kataifi dough
Butter or margarine
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Yellow food colour
Sugar syrup

Cut the kataifi dough or pastry into bits and pieces using a knife and chopping board.
Place it in a bowl and for every 1 cup of kataifi dough add a quarter cup butter or margarine.
Mix well the kataifi dough and butter.
In a baking pan or dish add a tablespoon of butter with some yellow food colouring and mix then spread over the baking dish.
Next add the kataifi in the prepared dish and spread evenly.
Then use a flat end of a cup or glass and press over the kataifi dough to flatten it.
Now sprinkle the cheese over the kataifi dough.
Bake in a 450 degrees oven for about 15 to 20 minutes or until cooked. If you feel the cheese is cooking faster than the kataifi and turning colour, cover the dish otherwise cook uncovered.
When ready remove from the oven and let it rest for a minute.
Take a plate and place on top of the dish with the kunafa. Flip the kunafa on to the plate.
Pour the sugar syrup over the top of kunafa, while the kunafa is still warm.
I like it served warm.
