Chocolate Cake Flan
Chocolate Cake Flan
For syrup:
6 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp water
Add these ingredients in a pot and cook to get a sticky caramel syrup.
Once you get the desired colour, remove and pour in a bundt cake pan, keep it aside and prepare the flan mixture.
For the flan you need:
6 eggs
6 tbsp milk powder
1 1/2 cups water
6 tbsp sugar
Ground cardamom (optional)
Blend all these together and pour in the bundt pan over the cooled caramel.
You also need a chocolate cake mix, I used a boxed chocolate cake mix. Follow the cake box instructions to mix the cake. Then pour the cake mixture over the flan in a bundt pan. Tap the pan to keep the cake mixture level.
In a wide oven safe frying pan, add some boiling water and place the bundt pan in the middle of the frying pan.
Place the frying pan with the bundt pan in the oven and bake for about 45 to 50 minutes or until the cake is well done.
Remove from the oven when done and let it rest. Then place the bundt pan with the cake in it in the fridge for a few hours until cooled.
Once ready to serve place a the bundt pan on a hot water bath for a few minutes. Then remove from water bath and gently separate the sides with a butter knife or spatula. Take a wide plate and place over the cake and flip everything, the plate will be down and the bundt pan will be upside down on the plate.
Gently tap the bundt pan to separate the cake away from the plate.
Enjoy!!
