Achari za Mraba








Achari za Mraba:
2 cups sugar
1 and a half cups water
Chili powder
Red food colour
Dried uncooked achari (slithered mangoes that have been dried in the sun)

In a pot, add everything except the achari.
Cook the mixture until it gets sticky enough and the liquid has reduced abit then add the achari and mix well while still on the stove.
You can leave the achari abit saucy(rojo) or let the liquid dry abit so they be somewhat sticky(mraba). If the syrup is done right you can even let liquid completely dry and let the achari get coated with sugar while the syrup is drying (kavu).
Once the desired stage of the achari is reached remove from the stove and let them cool.
