Flower Buns
Flower Buns
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp yeast
3 tbsp sugar
1/2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp margarine
3 tbsp yoghurt
3/4 cup to 1 cup warm milk.
Method:
Mix everything except milk, then add the milk a little at a time until you reach 3/4 cup, check the dough to see if it is soft, if it is hard add the remaining milk, if it is soft then don’t add any more milk.
Once the dough is soft, form it into a ball shape and let it rise.
Once risen, cut the dough in small balls, how many balls will depend on the size you want.
Then take each ball and roll it out into a strip, not too thick and not too thin, then take the strip and fold it into a knot, then take the top tail of the knot and tack it under the bun and take the bottom tail of the knot and tack it over and into the bun.
For more understanding, see the step by step photo.
Repeat the process with the remaining balls.
Then place the flower buns into a baking sheet, cover them and let them rise.
Once they are puffed up, brush them with egg wash or milk and sprinkle some sesame seeds.
Then bake them at 350 degrees for about 20 to 25 minutes.
Once done remove them from the oven and serve them warm.
Enjoy!!!
