2 cups almond meal
1 cup water
1 tbsp almond flakes
1 tin condensed milk
1/2 tsp saffron
1 tbsp ghee
In a non stick wok or pan, add the almond meal, water and let it soak for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes add all the other ingredients together with the almond meal/water mixture and mix well.
Then turn the stove to medium high and keep stirring the mixture continuously.
Keep cooking and stirring, the mixture will start thickening and pulling together. Continue mixing for about 20 minutes the mixture will be thick enough to form into shapes. After 20 minutes remove the mixture from the stove and let it cool slightly then use any cookie cutter to shape. Or use your hands to shape the pera.
