Rose Water Cookies








Rose Water Cookies
(Biskuti za marashi)
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 tbsp rose water
1 egg..lightly beaten
1 tsp baking powder
2 and a half cups flour

In a mixer, add the butter, sugar and mix well.
Next add in the egg, rose water and mix well.
Then mix in the flour, salt, baking powder in the mixture and mix well.
Shape the dough into two logs and wrap each log in a plastic wrap and place them in the fridge for at least 1 and a half hours.
Then cut the log into thin slices and place them in a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, giving them space to expand.
Bake them in a 375 degrees oven 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Let the cookies cool completely before icing.

For the icing:
1 egg white
2 and a quarter cup icing sugar
2 tbsp rose water
A few drops of red food colour
Lightly beat the yolk using a fork, then mix in the icing sugar and mix well.
Now add the rose water and continue to mix.
Next add the food colour to make nice pink colour.
Decorate the cookies with the icing and let the icing dry before storing the cookies.
