1 clove garlic..crushed
3 tbsp olive oil plus extra for serving
1/4 tsp ground cumin
Salt to taste
1/3 cup tahini paste
1/3 cup lemon juice
5 tbsp water
1 can (540 ml) cooked chickpea..washed and drained
Paprika for serving
In a food processor, add the tahini paste, lemon juice and blend until smooth.
Scrape the sides and blend again for about a minute.
Next add the olive oil,garlic, cumin, salt and blend for half a minute then scrape the sides and blend for another half a minute.
Now add the chickpeas and blend until smooth.
Now turn the food processor on and add the water a tablespoon at a time until the required thickness is reached. (Make sure the lid is closed and you will be using the top hole of the lid to add the water in).
Scrape the hummus into a bowl then drizzle some olive oil over the top and sprinkle with paprika.
After using store the hummus in an airtight container and place it in the fridge.
Serve the hummus with pita bread or pita chips.
