Flaky Square Chapatis
Flaky Square Chapatis:
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
2 tbsp coconut powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
Oil
Method:
In a mixer, add all the ingredients except water and oil.
Mix for about a minute then add the water and mix well until you get
a soft dough.
Spread the dough with oil and let it rest for about half an 2o minutes.
Then divide the dough into 8 or 9 balls and spread them with oil and let them rest for
another 20 minutes, make sure you cover them.
Then take each boil, roll it out using your hands but make sure to oil the surface and your hands.
Use gentle hands when rolling as the dough might tear up.
Once the ball is rolled out, fold it into thirds to make a long rectangle.
Then fold the ends to make a square.
Repeat this process with the other balls.
Cover the squares and let them rest for 20 minutes.
Now roll out the squares using your oiled hands to the thickness desired.
Now cook the chapati in an oiled pan, making sure the chapati gets cooked inside
as well and cook both sides until the chapatis are well cooked and the desired colour is reached.
Serve them with butter, honey or even plain.
Enjoy!!
