Jelly Donuts
Jelly Donuts:
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tablespoon yeast
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 tablespoon margarine
Method:
Add the yeast in the half cup of water, mix and let it rest for a few minutes.
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients along with the yeast water and form into a dough ball.
Let the dough rest and puff up.
Once risen, roll the dough and cut into circle shapes using a round cookie cutter.
Let the circles rest and puff up.
Next deep fry them on both sides to golden brown or darker colour if you like.
Let the donuts cool for a bit and coat them with regular sugar while still warm. If you want to put filling inside, make a slight slit on one side and fill a pastry bag with your favourite jam, then fill the jam through the slit you made, and then coat with sugar.
Tip: Warm the jam just a tiny bit before putting it in the pastry bag..
