3 to 4 large potatoes..Boil, peel and mash the potatoes.
8 to 9 tbsp breadcrumbs..I used breadcrumbs because my potatoes were sticky.
2 tbsp dried parsley (optional)
2 tbsp ginger/garlic paste
1/4 tsp garlic salt (optional)
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp curry powder
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp mustard seeds or rai seeds
1/2 tsp red chili flakes
2 tbsp oil
Put all these ingredients in a pan and cook until all the liquid has dried out.
Let the mixture cool and pour over the mashed potatoes, taste for salt. Add the dried parsley and mix well.
Now check your mixture if you fell it’s sticky and wet, add the breadcrumbs, if you feel it’s fine, then omit the breadcrumbs.
For me, I added the breadcrumbs as my potatoes were sticky. Mix well and shape the mixture into balls.
Now for the batter:
1 cup gram flour
1 cup flour
2 cups water
1/4 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic salt
2 tsp lemon juice
A dash of yellow food colour
Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth batter.
Now dip the kachori balls and deep fry them.
Serve them with chutneys!!
