Fried Cheese Balls
SWEET CHEESE BALLS:
3 cups flour
1 tbsp yeast
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
5 tbsp milk powder
1 tbsp custard powder
A dash of salt
1/3 cup oil
1 and a quarter cups water
Cream cheese cut into small cubes
You also need sugar syrup (shira) like the one you make for kaimati.
For sugar syrup recipe look under kaimati recipe.
In a mixer, add all the ingredients except water, sugar syrup and cream cheese.
Mix well and then add water in parts, mixing well after each addition. Mix well until you get a soft but firm dough.
Put the dough in a bowl and let the dough rise.
Once risen, cut the dough into small balls and put cream cheese cubes in the small balls and seal into a nice shape balls.
Now deep fry the balls until golden brown.
After taking the balls out of the oil, dip them in syrup (shira).
Serve them as a dessert or even snack.
