Katlesi za Tuna (Tuna Cutlets)
Katlesi za tuna ( tuna cutlets )
2 lbs potatoes
Boil, peel and mash the potatoes.
To the potatoes add some salt, ground black pepper, coriander and some garlic powder.
Next you need:
2 cans tuna, drain the tuna and place the tuna in a small pot, add some salt, ground black pepper, lemon juice, coriander, 1/4 tsp curry powder, 1 tbsp garlic/ginger crushed.
Place the pot on medium heat and cook the tuna just for a few minutes.
Remove from heat, add the tuna to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
Next add 4 eggs and mix well.
Then add about 15 tbsp of bread crumbs and mix well.
Keep the mixture in the fridge for at least an hour.
Place a deep frying vessel with oil in it and place it on a medium heat stove.
Take the mixture and shape them any way you like.
Fry the shapes, making sure the oil is hot or your shapes will fall apart.
Turn the katlesi almost immediately after placing it in the oil, as the oil is hot you don’t want it to burn and at the same time be careful not to break it.
When both sides are cooked, remove from the oil and place them in a plate with a paper towel on top to drain any excess oil.
Repeat with the remaining mixture.
Serve with chutneys.
