Square Chapatis

Square-Chapatis2

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tbsp yeast
1 and a 1/4 cup warm water
5 tbsp coconut powder
2 tbsp ghee
Some oil or ghee for cooking

Method:
In a mixer, add all the ingredients except water.
Mix together for a few minutes and then start adding water a little at a time.
Continue mixing and adding the water until you get a soft dough.
Divide the dough and shape them into balls.
Coat the balls in oil and let them rest for about 20 minutes.
Then oil your working space and take each ball and shape it into a square using your finger. The dough should be easy to expand and work with.
Once you have a square shape, oil the shape and fold from back to front making it a rectangle and spread some oil and fold from right to left, making it a square again.
Repeat with the remaining balls.
Then let the squares rest for about half an hour.
Next, take each square and press it into a bigger square using your finger (oil your fingers).
Then in a frying pan, spread some oil and cook the square chapati just like you would cook the regular chapatis.
Just remember to cook on medium heat and make sure the inside is also well cooked. Also remember not to press to hard when cooking them.
Repeat with all the squares.
Enjoy with tea!!!
