Firnee is an Afghani custard dessert made of mainly milk and corn starch. I have had this dessert many times from my friends and decided to make it on my own.
1 cup cream
2 thirds cup sugar or less depending on your taste
Half a cup corn starch
3 cups of milk
Ground cardamom (optional)
In a non stick pan, add the milk, cream, cardamom and cornstarch and place the pan on a medium heat stove.
Cook the mixture stirring constantly so it doesn’t form lumps or stick to the pan.
Once the mixture starts bubbling or thickening, add the sugar and continue to stir.
Cook until the custard is silky and has thickened enough.
Let the custard cool, then transfer in a serving bowl or bowls and garnish with nuts and then place in the fridge until cold.
